Full-Stack Software Engineer

Our client, an Irish broadcasting company is seeking to hire a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join their development team, building some of the most high-profile online products in Ireland including their website and app.

Reporting to the Systems & Development Manager, this is a critical role within the development team and the day-to-day duties are essential to ensuring their content is published and available in a timely and reliable manner across a suite of online products and services that hundreds of thousands of people use every day.

Collaborating with UX designers, content-creators, project-managers, testers and the wider development team, the candidate should have a strong appreciation of the importance of design, user-interfaces, and user-experience, and how they combine to produce an outstanding product.

Working with a wide range of colleagues in both technical and non-technical roles, the candidate must be a clear, calm and consistent communicator, and should be ready and comfortable being the person who solves problems - sometimes in situations where there is lots of pressure, and little time.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Creating advanced, interactive web application layouts and User Interfaces based on high-fidelity design concepts
  •  
  • Development and maintenance of large-scale, highly performant web applications
  •  
  • Estimating development effort for assigned tasks and the development backlog
  •  
  • Routine daily maintenance of existing sites and application
  •  
  • Software testing, debugging, and refactoring

Requirements:
  •  At least 5 years' experience as a Full-Stack Software Engineer, developing and supporting large scale, public-facing web applications
  • Highly proficient in Python programming with particular experience in the Django framework and essential modern web technologies
  •  Advanced knowledge of modern front-end frameworks such as React or Angular
  • Experience developing and deploying serverless applications written in Node.js and Python
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, fluid environment while ensuring the uptime and availability of services
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving/analytical skills
  • Ability to quickly pick up new technologies and support a broad range of systems
