Group Financial Accountant
Location: Carlow and Hybrid (flexible days on-site)
Salary: €70K - €80K

Our client is currently seeking a skilled Group Financial Accountant with a keen interest in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). If you possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, coupled with a desire to expand your knowledge and expertise in M&A transactions, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to applicable accounting standards and regulations.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making processes related to M&A transactions.
- Assist in the due diligence process, including financial modelling, valuation, and risk assessment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, tax, and operational departments, to facilitate smooth integration of acquired entities.
- Monitor and report on post-acquisition financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate strategies.
- Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Fully qualified financial accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA
- 5-10 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and consolidation.
- Demonstrated experience or exposure to M&A transactions, including due diligence, financial modelling, and valuation.
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of seniority.
- Proactive mindset, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
